3 Tips to Help You Stay Sober at Austin Eat and Drink Local Week

Austin Eat and Drink Local Week is here and running through December 8th. The 6th annual event offers a great opportunity for those looking to get a true taste of great local food and uniquely brewed Austin beer. The event features 50+ local restaurants serving specially crafted menus that use only local ingredients and drinks. From a bicycle farm crawl to an evening with food expert Raj Patel, everyone is sure to find a way to support Austin during this week.

Since this event does last an entire week and involves thousands of pounds of food and at least as much drink, chances are that a few folks out there will find themselves a drink or two past sober over the eight days it lasts.

Play it safe with these 3 tips to stay sober during Austin Eat and Drink Local Week:

1. Space your drinks:
Not all drinks are created equal and some even take 2-6 hours to metabolize. Avoid accidents by sticking with the 1 drink per hour rule.

2. Watch what you combine:
Be aware of the warning labels for prescription and over-the-counter medication. Check to be sure that any drugs you’re currently taking can be safely combined with alcoholic beverages.

3. Know your limit:
Be aware of what your body can handle and don’t cross the line. It may be a special event, but going over the limit runs the risk of ruining your fun all-together.

So, eat, drink and be merry as you traverse the local delicacies that will be on display throughout Austin, and if you get in a little hot water, give us a call any hour of the day. We want you to remember, that no matter what the situation, Freedom Bail Bonds is here to help.
