Child Sex Trafficker Arrested in North Austin

Sexual Assault in Austin TX

No child should ever be involved in the dangerous world of prostitution. On Monday, September 21, 2015 a juvenile girl was found at the Orangewood Suites Hotel in North Austin with a 26-year old man by the Texas Department of Public Safety. James Javon Banks was arrested for attempting to force the girl and a 26-year old woman named Brandi Nicole Bass into prostitution.

By happenstance, Banks was pulled over for a traffic violation and was arrested for a warrant. Banks was arrested after the juvenile victim told the arresting officers that she no longer wanted to be in Banks’s presence.

According to Houston, TX news source KHOU the girl also notified authorities that Banks had forced her to engage in sexual acts “with seven different men at a cost of $300 per encounter.”[1]

In addition to sex trafficking, the victim was sexually assaulted by Banks who also provided her with ecstasy and marijuana during the course of the trafficking.

Bond for James Javon Banks has been set at $80,000.
