Breaking Bad Season Finale at The North Door

As the hype surrounding Breaking Bad—AMC’s intensely popular TV drama starring Bryan Cranston as a drug-dealing chemistry teacher—continues to escalate with each passing week, Austinites are invited to enjoy the final few episodes on the big screen for free. Thanks to the good people at The North Door, guests are welcome to break bad every Sunday and watch the epic saga of Walter White meet its (tragic?) conclusion in a distinctly “Austin” venue.

Complete with “2 full bars, balcony seating, and a 25-foot HD video projection wall,” The North Door boasts an environment that few venues around Austin can match, and Breaking Bad enthusiasts have been raving about the experience of enjoying the show on the big screen. Additionally, The North Door features its own “cozy cocktail lounge,” so the event provides a unique opportunity for fanatics of the show—which, at this point, seems to define almost everybody—to meet, strike up some friendly conversation, and rabidly debate how the show will meet its end.

Doors open at 7 P.M. every Sunday for an airing of the episode from the previous week, and, after a quick intermission, each brand new episode hits the screen at 8 o’clock sharp. The North Door seats about 160 people, and because the event is gaining popularity, it is highly recommended for everyone to show up a bit early in order to guarantee a spot.
